The Opportunity

You will be part of a dynamic and highly skilled, IT consulting team that provides testing and program support for a large-scale technology modernization project in the energy sector. You will support with functional IT analysis, testing, and integration of application solutions. You will assist with all phases of the project, working towards business and technology objectives. The ideal candidate will be eager to learn, detail-oriented, data driven, proactive, and have strong analytical problem-solving skills.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform system administration activities to include account management, monitoring and management of system resources (CPU, memory, disk, etc), monitoring and auditing system logs, back-up and recovery, continuity of operations, security, managing operating systems, and storage management
  • Plan, design, troubleshoot, and provide day-to-day support for the business collaboration application (e.g. SharePoint); set up, configure, and maintain the business collaboration application environment
  • Act as a principal Windows 10 liaison between testers and other technical services departments to ensure users can successfully access and perform daily activities with existing and new software applications in the new Windows 10 environment
  • Increase stakeholder familiarity with the new Windows 10 environment by explaining the ramification of decisions to both the technical and non-technical data users
  • Maintain database performance; implement new releases; complete database maintenance requirements via TFS
  • Follow established incident, problem, and change management procedures in order to document all requests for service, resolve user issues, correct the root cause of incidents, and minimize any adverse impact to the customer
  • Create and maintain documentation to support the testing, installation, operations and maintenance of data center equipment
  • Perform system back-ups and restore functions to ensure data availability and survivability of information
  • Create weekly and monthly deliverables identifying testing management metrics

To Qualify for the Role, You Must Have:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Computer Sciences, Information Technology, or similar/related fields, AND/OR related technical training
  • 3-6 years of relevant experience
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Advanced understanding of SDLC
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Windows server and client administration (Windows 2008 and Windows 7, respectively): Microsoft Exchange Server, Windows Server Update Services (WSUS), SharePoint Server or similar command and control operational systems experience, desktop management, Windows scripting, incident/problem resolution
  • Intermediate level skills in MS PowerPoint and Word
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple task assignments with tight deadlines
  • Familiarity with fast-paced environments and strong problem solving skills
  • Apt in learning new skills rapidly and efficiently learn client business and processes

Ideally, You'll Also Have:

  • An understanding of master scheduling and integrated project planning
  • Familiarity with SQL Server, System Center Configuration Manager, Windows Scripting, VMware 6/Virtual PC administration, Citrix administration, WEB Master (IIS), Tivoli Storage Manager (TSM) administration, BACKUP/RESTORE, GCCS-J 4.x or similar command and control operational systems experience, desktop management, Windows scripting, incident/problem resolution IND201
  • Experience with enterprise PMO and Lean PMO setup and operation
  • Specialized experience documenting IT requirements, and reading existing materials and documentation, providing detail analysis of software business and technical capabilities
  • Proficiency in Change Management
