The Opportunity

We are currently looking for a COBOL Developer to join our consulting team who are involved in planning and providing program support for a large-scale technology modernization project in the federal government. You will support software developmental initiatives by designing and implementing COBOL applications.

Key Responsibilities

Individuals must be able to apply their knowledge on Software Development Life Cycle which includes systems documentation, design, development, programming languages, configuration management, cost analysis, data administration and systems integration on COBOL applications. Individuals must also have the ability to analyze, define and design solutions that align with business initiatives and federal strategies

To Qualify for the Role, You Must Have:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science from an accredited college or university required; an additional (4) years of related work experience can substitute for a degree
  • 2-5 years of relevant experience required
  • Experience with COBOL programming on a mainframe
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills
  • Demonstrated success in client support
  • Ability to interface with all levels of management
  • Ability to perform complex tasks with minimal supervision and guidance
  • Excellent time management, scheduling, and organizational skills
  • Ability to work well independently or in a team setting

Ideally, You'll Also Have:

  • Experience working with Executive IT, Business Leadership, or the Federal Government
  • Professional meeting and presentation preparation (materials creation, data visualization, logistics) Experience working in the financial services or the professional services industry
  • Project Support or Project Management experience
  • Knowledge of standard IT methodologies and processes, such as PMBOK, Prince2, Six Sigma, CMMI, Agile, Product Management and Systems Development Life Cycles
  • An understanding of master scheduling and integrated project planning
  • Experience with enterprise PMO and Lean PMO setup and operation
